この度は、ジャーナリストビザ取得にあたり多大なご尽力をいただき、心より御礼申し上げます。

私はこれまで、Lonely Planet や BBC Worldwide のガイドブック著者として、また AOL Travel のブロガーとして活動してきました。世界各地の旅行情報を執筆してきましたが、日本文化と言語への関心が高まる中で、東京に生活と仕事の拠点を築きたいと考えるようになりました。

しかし、私の雇用元には日本国内に支店や拠点がないため、私の状況で適切な在留資格を取得できるのか不安がありました。そんな中、ACROSEEDでの非常に的確かつ専門的な相談を通じ、「ジャーナリストビザ」が最適であるとご助言いただき、申請における注意点や手続きのポイントについて丁寧な指示を受けることができました。

その結果、現在私は3年のジャーナリストビザを取得し、これまでの執筆活動を継続できるようになっただけでなく、今後は日本に関する新しいプロジェクトにも取り組んでいきたいと考えています。現在は北海道に関する新しいガイドブックの制作も進めており、2009年末には日本国内および海外で出版される予定です。

Dear Miyagawa-san & Saito-san,

I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for all of the hard work you both did in helping me receive my journalist visa.

For the past several years, I have been working as a guidebook author for Lonely Planet and BBC Worldwide, as well as a blogger for AOL Travel. While I have written travel-related content for destinations around the world, my increasing interest in Japanese culture and language prompted me to create a home base in Tokyo.

Since my employers do not have branch offices in Japan, I was very concerned about the legal difficulties involved in acquiring the proper visa for my particular situation. After an extremely professional consultation, I was properly advised to pursue a journalist visa, and given explicit instructions on the subtleties involved in making a proper application to immigration.

I am please to say that I am now in possession of a three-year journalist visa, which will enable me to continue with my writing, and to hopefully pursue more Japan-related projects in the near future. I am also working on a new guidebook to Hokkaido, which should hit bookstores both in Japan and abroad sometime in late 2009.

Once again, thank you so much for your guidance and for your support. Had I not taken the opportunity to visit ACROSEED, it is very likely that I would not presently be in Japan.
